Calatheas are a gorgeous genus of flowering tropicals native to Central and Southern America. Much like their rainforest climate, Calathea's require high humidity to thrive. Calathea's generally prefer filtered or distilled water and a little extra attention.
WATER: Calatheas need regular watering. Water once every 4-5 days or when soil is dry to the touch. Misting is always beneficial, but doesn't replace watering!
LIGHT: Calatheas are used to a rainforest canopy, which is why they do not like direct sunlight. Low to medium light is suitable!
Calatheas are non-toxic to pets according to the ASPCA
